VENUE INFORMATION

We get a number of questions relating to the venue for different events all the time, so in an effort to help you before you attend, we have listed some of them here for you to peruse before the event to make your visit as stress-free as possible!

WHAT TIME DOES THE EVENT OPEN?

Comic Con Ireland opens at the same time over the course of the weekend this time is as follows:

Saturday Early Entry: 9.00am

Saturday Standard Entry: 11.00am

Saturday Closing: 6.00pm

Sunday Early Entry: 9.00am

Sunday Standard Entry: 11.00am

Sunday Closing: 6.00pm

 

DO YOU HAVE CAR PARKING? 

Anglesea Road or Simmonscourt Road car parks are available at the RDS for those travelling by car. Parking is fee-paying except for members, with daily rates of around €10, though this varies by event.

DO YOU HAVE A CASH MACHINE?

There is an ATM available at the RDS in Hall 1 which is available during event opening hours, however, we still strongly advise that you make sure you bring cash with you.

We also have card terminals at each guest's table as well as in the photo areas where you can purchase photo ops, autographs, selfies, and COA certificates.  

​​

Finally, it is worth noting that the vast majority of traders accept cards as well as cash, but always check with the trader before purchasing an item.

​

DO YOU ACCEPT GBP PAYMENTS?

The only currency that is accepted at the RDS itself is Euros. However, our own Monopoly Events tables and booths etc and also some traders will accept GBP but please check with traders beforehand.

DO YOU HAVE WI-FI?

The RDS provides free Wi-Fi for visitors and exhibitors by selecting the "RDS-WIFI" network.

DOES THE VENUE OFFER DISABLED ACCESS?

The RDS is mindful of issues of accessibility at all times and are dedicated to providing support to all visitors.  There are a number of Disabled Car Parking spaces located in the Merrion Rd Car Park and in the Simmonscourt Car Park.  These are available on a first come first served basis and cannot be reserved in advance.  All of the of spaces in the RDS are wheelchair accessible and toilets for people with disabilities are available throughout the venue. WHAT FOOD AND DRINK OPTIONS DO YOU OFFER?

You can eat at restaurants and cafes run by RDS Hospitality within the RDS venue, such as 1881 Restaurant and Ring Café, or find numerous dining options nearby, including the Italian-inspired The Garden Terrace, healthy food at Sprout & Co, and high-end dining at the nearby InterContinental Dublin hotel's Seasons Restaurant.

PLEASE NOTE: If you have an allergy or special dietary requirement please contact the venue. No food or drink purchased outside the RDS is permitted to be brought into the venue.

WHAT DO I DO IF I NEED FIRST AID?

There are always trained first aid staff available at each event during opening hours. If you require medical attention, just ask the nearest member of staff for immediate assistance.

 

DO YOU HAVE BABY CHANGING FACILITIES?

There are baby changing facilities in selected toilets, please ask a member of staff for the nearest one during your visit.

 

CAN I SMOKE AT THE VENUE?

The RDS has a strict no smoking policy, anyone found smoking anywhere within the venue will be requested to leave without a refund. The use of electronic cigarettes is also strictly prohibited in the venue and anyone caught using one will again be asked to leave the premises. There are designated smoking areas outside the venue.
