We get a number of questions relating to where we are and how to reach us at events every year, so in an effort to help you before you attend, we have listed some of them here for you to peruse before the event to make your visit as stress-free as possible!
WHERE IS THE EVENT BEING HELD?

GET TO US BY LAND, SEA OR AIR!
With excellent air and sea links as well as rail and road networks, getting to Ballsbridge, Dublin and the RDS from overseas or the UK or within the Republic of Ireland has never been easier!

TRAVELLING BY CAR
To drive to the RDS, use Sat Nav with the address "RDS, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4", or use the Anglesea Road or Simmonscourt Road car parks. Parking is fee-paying except for members, with daily rates of around €10, though this varies by event. Consider the N11 or M50 as potential routes, but check traffic beforehand.​

TRAVELLING BY TAXI
To get a taxi to the RDS in Dublin, you can hail one on the street, use a taxi app, or find a taxi rank. The RDS has a designated pick-up and drop-off point for taxis at Green Gate.

TRAVELLING BY BUS
The RDS is serviced locally by Dublin Bus and Go-Ahead Ireland from Dublin City Centre, with a number of routes:

There are also multiple routes serviced to and from the nearby Donnybrook Road, Bus Garage on the N11 which is only 10 minutes walking distance from the RDS. They are 46a, 145, 7b, 7d, 39a, 84x, 116 and 155.

TRAVELLING BY TRAIN
Travelling by Irish Rail - Iarnród Éireann
InterCity Rail services run from 2 different Dublin stations: Heuston Station and Connolly Station:

Heuston Station has trains to and from to Ballina, Westport, Galway, Limerick, Tralee, Cork, Waterford, Portlaoise and Kildare
Connolly Station has trains to/from Belfast, Sligo, Dundalk, Kildare, Longford and Rosslare Europort. The Luas Red Line links the two stations door to door.
TRAVELLING BY DART/LUAS
DART Routes:
The DART service runs to Lansdowne Road Station and Sandymount Station, both of which are a short walk from the RDS.

LUAS - Dublin Light Rail:
There is no direct route from the LUAS to the RDS. However, the LUAS connects at Connolly Station to the DART system which stops at both Landsdowne and Sandymount Dart Stations, both of which are a short walk from the RDS.
The closest LUAS stop is Ranelagh, which can be reached by taking the S2 bus from Merrion Road.
TRAVELLING BY FERRY
Dublin Port has regular daily ferry sailings between Ireland and the UK. The port is located approx. 7km from the RDS. The most direct driving route from Dublin Port to the RDS is via the East Link Toll Bridge where a charge will apply.

TRAVELLING BY PLANE
Dublin Airport is a dual terminal international airport conveniently located approximately 10km north of Dublin City Centre, near the M50 and M1 motorways. Serviced by direct routes to/from Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia, Canada and North America with US Pre-clearance at the airport. There are public transport links to/from the airport by bus and taxi. Taxis are readily available for hire outside the airport.

Taxis are available at the Taxi rank outside Arrivals. Expect to pay between €30 and €40 to get to the RDS.
Public Transport to/from Dublin Airport
​
The RDS is serviced by the Aircoach (Route 702) that brings customers directly to and from Dublin airport. Aircoach stops are located on Merrion Road in front of the RDS main complex entrance.
